What is Safe Families for Children at Anthem Church?
Safe Families for Children at Anthem Church is a family preservation movement motivated by radical hospitality, disruptive generosity, and intentional compassion to keep children safe and families together facing crisis. SFFC serves families who lack social networks and live in isolation without support of family and friends dealing with crises such as homelessness, unemployment, child abuse, domestic violence, medical emergencies and alcohol/drug rehabilitation. Designed to extend and strengthen the community safety net for families in crisis, this is a positive alternative to the state child welfare system, allowing parents to work out their problems without having to worry about losing custody of their children.
The program’s goal is to reunite children with their biological parent(s) in a home that is more stable and healthy.
Through this ministry, Anthem Church has been working together to actively love and support local families in crisis since August, 2018. Our Anthem family has provided over 1,375 safe nights to 65 different children from 31 different families! Help us continue this movement! There are many ways to volunteer. You can invite a child into your home for a designated period of time as a Host Family. Family Friends support the host family in an abundance of ways. You can offer your time, resources, talents, expertise, support and prayers. Everyone can do something. What’s your something?
